i always wondered if any one would satisfying there curiosity of what happen if u shoot some one with a fucking canon... i mean every one knows but dam to see the results...nice to see the Muslims have evolving the art of killing of the human spices.

Answer to why they don't run off is simple, firstly they are probably told by their captors that if they run they will cut their throats or use an other nasty torture/execution method, therefore they take the clean option,secondly they usually tie up their hands and ankles before hand.
