Galim hostels array for aspies, decided to install a synthetic grass at the backyard of my hostel.I personally thinks that this is one of the most unecologically action that can be done regarding to plants, vegetation and beauty, because of the following reasons:1. Synthetic grass requires polluting, resources and energy consuming manufacturing of plastic and synthetic materials, what a real grass don't requires at all.2. Synthetic grass don't converts carbon dioxide to oxygen by photosynthesis, what a real grass do.3. Synthetic grass may emit dangerous chemicals, that a real grass don't emits (Especially if an odoriferous substance was added to simulate the odor of real grass or to get other types of odors).The promotion of the use of synthetic grass, as an ecological solution (Only because it don't require a daily irrigation during summer at night)(Which is a high level greenwash), is very massive, especially in universities.I want to know if such a thing exist in other countries than Israel. I begins to think, that several of the greenwashing products or behaviors that I have seen here, also began here in Israel (For example the false claim about dangrous UV radiation from fluorescents and CFLs, and that an amalgam is more environmently friendlier than liquid mercury).
