How to handle inappropriate criticism and hatemail

Ms. T. S shows how to "wipe and flush" negative feedback in old school (mail, letters & papers before social media) way. I would guess that's the most psychologically healthiest and the most satisfying way to handle it. I wonder if any celeb (especially female celebs) have done it or doing it really?
