First time i saw this i felt sick it was that bad. But having had time to think about it, i believe its fake/ a hoax. Forgive me if im wrong but this is my thinking:
1. Why would he gag her? Ive never seen this performed while the assistant has been gagged. The only reason this would be is so that he 'cant hear her screaming'. Which leads to my second point...
2 even with the cloth in her mouth youd hear her screaming. If she knew what was coming if she was stuck (which she would) shed be shouting and rocking back and forward hard ashell. Believe me, nothings stronger than the will to live, shed have ripped the box apart with how hard shes be shaking never mind him not notocing. Aldo the commentary said he couldnt hear her over the saw, but the saw wasnt even running at the time
3. The magician before making the cuts inserts the sheet into the gap (as he did with the feet and the head). The purpose of this sheet is to check that the gap is clear, with no obstructions... like a neck for instance! There is no other point to inserting those sheets, they are a safety precaution. As you can see both sheets are clearly inserted right through with no obstruction... so how could her neck possibly be there?
4. After he did the feet the magician moved the feet away. With the head they didnt try to. The assistant immediately opened the lid like it was preplanned. Theyd otherwise have pulled the head box away as usual. As a side note here why was the front of the head box left open facing the audience? That doesnt usually happen. Its usually closed like the body and legs are here, why would that be?
5. The clincher for me, as mentioned in another comment, is the blood. When the camera zooms in on the rag, there is a little smear of blood on it. The brain uses a hell of a lot of oxygen, which comes from the blood. Hence there is an incredible amount of blood circulation through the neck, gallons a minute probably. Certainly more than would leave a smear on the rag. You wouldnt need to zoom in if an actual neck had been cut, the blood would be pumping out so hard and fast itd cover the stage in no time. A human woman has about 8 gallons of blood, almost all of this would be pumped out of her neck before her heart stopped beating and would be on the floor. No way NO WAY would there be a tiny smear of blood its basically impossible
Thats my opinion, you may be inclined to disbelieve what i say but watch it again after reading them and try telling me im wrong. I appologise sincerely if i am wrong and its totally real, but from what i said above (especially number 5) its extremely unlikely

If this were real I'm assuming the magicians wife would be on this list from SNOPES:
Just google: “snopes magician.” I did a lot of other searches but this was the only one that yielded a result.
However you can see her neck was cut and very damaged with the blade insertion, you can see the blood. This woman is screaming bloody murder and flapping and smacking the box as hard as she can and no one notices, and she goes limp after the chainsaw goes through. This is a professional TV/documentary announcer/commentator, and he isn't going to announce something fake. Also YOU CANNOT FAKE THAT HORRIFYING SCREAM from the woman that came over after they opened the box up. You cannot prepare a scream from the soul like that. HOWEVER, if you look, THE TOP OF THE BOX IS CLEAR, so the magician would/SHOULD have been able to see in there that either the girls had made it into the bottom and middle boxes or not, it's still slightly unclear just HOW clear they are though. Decide for yourselves if it's true or not. I am baffled.

this is real. The guy actually went to jail for killing his assistant and wife. There are many articles about this. As for the blood (which a lot of people talk about) it was contained inside of the box until the separation of the two boxes, which isn't shown here but there is a full version.

notice he walks in front of the head and it is switched...the new fake head move by remote...it moves the same way side to side only...before the switch she moved up down tilted etc.
